Accessing Care

The Primary Health Care Team consists of Medical Doctors (MD), Nurse Practitioners (NP), and Registered Nurses (RN) who address acute and chronic health needs and provide preventive, rehabilitative and palliative care.

Primary health care is offered to clients who are registered with the Centre.

If you are a registered client and are not sure if you should continue to manage an issue at home or come into the Centre, our nursing staff will give you guidance and help you book an appointment, if needed.

Please also book an appointment for non-urgent needs including prescription renewals to ensure that you always have an adequate supply.

Home visits are available for clients who have special circumstances such as palliative care needs.

An on-call telephone number will be provided to you as part of your New Client Registration package.

On-call care is provided by a physician or nurse practitioner, outside regular hours of operation, including weekends.

In emergencies CALL 911 immediately or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency department.
We are not equipped to deal with emergency or crisis health needs.

Early detection of illness is important. Screening for health concerns at certain times over your lifespan can help keep you healthy. Even if you feel well, it is important to take charge of your health. We encourage you to have a complete health review at least every two years. Those who have chronic illness should book regular appointments. Your provider will help determine a schedule.
